Nora Fatehi apologizes before National Commission over “Sarke Chunar” controversy

Mumbai (Showbiz Desk) Nora Fatehi, a Moroccan-origin Canadian dancer, singer, and Bollywood actress, has appeared before the National Commission for Women in India and apologized over the controversy related to the song “Sarke Chunar”.

During her appearance before the commission on Thursday, Nora Fatehi said that she never intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments and expressed regret over the situation. According to her, she was wrongly involved in the matter.

The hearing, held over allegations of inappropriate portrayal of women, was presided over by commission chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, and it also included Sanjay Dutt in the proceedings.

Nora Fatehi told the media that she has submitted a written apology and understands her responsibilities as an artist.

She further said that as a corrective step, she has decided to sponsor the education of orphan girls so that she can give something positive back to society.
