Pakistan decides LNG spot purchases; bids invited for three cargoes

Islamabad (Commerce Desk) Pakistan has decided to make spot purchases of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and has invited bids from international companies for three LNG cargoes.

According to sources in Pakistan LNG Limited, bids will be received by April 24 and opened on the same day.

Officials said that these three cargoes will be procured for April and May. The first cargo is expected to be supplied between April 27 and 30, the second between May 1 and 7, and the third between May 8 and 14.

Authorities stated that the purpose of this move is to meet the country’s energy requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
