Occupied West Bank (Monitoring Desk): Ten suspected Israeli settlers have been arrested over allegations of violence against an American journalist and European diplomats in the occupied West Bank.
According to reports, masked Israeli settlers were filmed attacking Heidi Levine, a photojournalist for the American newspaper The Washington Post, on Friday. Levine, a US citizen, was covering the Palestinian olive harvest in the occupied West Bank.
The journalist was injured in the attack and taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery on one of her fingers.
Separately, masked Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank also attacked French, Belgian and Polish diplomats, as well as a French mayor. A Belgian diplomatic vehicle was also damaged during the incident.
The United States, a close ally of Israel, had called for action against settler violence and the arrest of those involved in the attack on The Washington Post photojournalist.
Meanwhile, France, Belgium and Poland had also called on Israel to take action against those responsible following the attacks on their diplomats.
