30,000 Govt Employees Cast Votes in AJK Elections

Muzaffarabad (Pakistan News): Thousands of government employees are exercising their right to vote today during the first phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir general elections 2026.

Elections for 26 out of the 33 seats of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly will be held on July 27. In the first phase, around 30,000 government employees from eight districts are casting their votes for their respective constituencies.

Strict security arrangements have been made during the voting process, with police and Frontier Corps personnel performing security duties.

According to officials, offices of district returning officers have been designated as polling centers for government employees’ votes, while the counting of these votes will be conducted along with the results of the general elections.

A total of 3,365,839 registered voters will exercise their right to vote in the elections scheduled for July 27, including 1,753,933 male voters and 1,611,906 female voters.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Election Commissioner Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal visited various polling centers to review election preparations. He rejected rumors regarding the postponement of elections and clarified that polling will take place as scheduled.
