Bhopal (Showbiz Desk) Renowned Urdu poet Bashir Badr has passed away at the age of 91. With his death, a distinguished era of Urdu poetry has come to an end, and the literary world has lost one of its most respected voices.
Bashir Badr was regarded as one of the most prominent and popular poets of modern Urdu ghazal. He had been ill for a long time and had spent the past several years confined to bed. He passed away in Bhopal.
According to media reports, he had been suffering from a neurological disorder for an extended period. Through his poetry, he beautifully expressed themes of love, separation, loneliness, migration, and human emotions in a simple yet deeply moving style, earning widespread admiration across South Asia and around the world.
His poetry was equally appreciated by both general readers and literary circles. Many of his verses became widely quoted and continue to be recited at mushairas, literary gatherings, and across social media platforms.
In recognition of his literary contributions, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri.
