Washington (Monitoring Desk) — The US think tank Soufan Center has described Taliban-ruled Afghanistan as a failed state, saying the country remains a safe haven for terrorist groups and violent elements.
According to the report, Al-Qaeda is providing training to Fitna al-Khawarij through training centers in Afghanistan, while the Taliban’s strict policies and links with extremist groups have increased instability and crime in the country.
Since the Taliban came to power, Afghanistan has faced international isolation and a declining economy, while the country remains one of the major centers of global drug trafficking.
