Afghanistan Becomes Hub for Terrorist Networks

Washington (Monitoring Desk): According to the US publication South Asia Journal, the activities of various militant organizations, including Fitna al-Khawarij, ISIS-Khorasan and Al-Qaeda, are still continuing in Afghanistan.

According to the report, militant groups with different ideologies are benefiting from shared networks for weapons, training and facilitation in Afghanistan. Pakistan has repeatedly raised the issue of cross-border attacks by Fitna al-Khawarij from Afghanistan.

United Nations reports have also reinforced concerns regarding the activities of Fitna al-Khawarij in Afghanistan and support from the Taliban government. According to the report, the presence of permanent safe havens for militants in Afghanistan could discourage investment and weaken regional connectivity.

The head of the Afghan National Resistance Front, Ahmad Massoud, has also confirmed the presence and activities of terrorists under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban.
