AJK Elections: Polling Begins in 4 Bagh, Haveli Constituencies

Mirpur, Azad Kashmir (Pakistan News) — Polling has begun in four constituencies of Bagh and Haveli districts in the Poonch Division during the third phase of the 2026 Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections.

Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sherry Rehman expressed concern over the alleged prevention of polling agents from monitoring the electoral process and called on the Election Commission to intervene immediately.

She said any obstruction or irregularity in the electoral process could not be ignored and urged the Election Commission to address complaints without delay.

PPP Punjab General Secretary Hassan Murtaza said at a press conference that his party had concerns regarding the elections. He said nine complaints concerning constituencies LA-15 and LA-16 had been submitted to the Election Commission and that their polling staff were not being allowed to enter polling stations.

According to the Election Commission, all arrangements for the third phase have been completed. Voting in three constituencies of Bagh and one constituency of Haveli will continue until 5 p.m.

It is worth noting that due to changes in the election schedule, elections in five constituencies of Poonch Division and two constituencies of Sudhanoti had already been postponed.
