Azad Kashmir (Pakistan News): The government of Azad Kashmir has declared the Joint Awami Action Committee a banned organization and placed it under the First Schedule.
According to details, the Ministry of Interior of Azad Kashmir issued a formal notification stating that all organizations operating under the names “Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee,” “Joint Awami Action Committee,” and “Awami Action Committee” have been declared proscribed.
The notification further states that these organizations have been included in the First Schedule under the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Terrorism Act 2014, with approval granted by the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The government’s statement claims that evidence exists indicating the group’s involvement in activities that disturb public peace and order, and that it has been found responsible for creating unrest in the region.
The notification also alleges that the organization is involved in spreading fear, creating social insecurity, promoting hate speech, and undermining state peace.
It added that legal action will be taken against the banned organization in accordance with the law. Copies of the notification have been sent to relevant departments including the Federal Ministry of Interior, senior officials, district administrations, police, counter-terrorism units, and other concerned authorities.
The Azad Kashmir government emphasized that peace, rule of law, and the protection of citizens will be ensured at all costs, and no group will be allowed to disturb law and order in the region.
