Washington (Showbiz Desk) — American singer Ella Langley cancelled her concert in the US city of Tulsa at the last minute.
According to foreign media reports, the 27-year-old singer cited a serious security threat as the reason for cancelling the concert on Friday, October 9.
In a message posted on social media, Ella Langley said the decision to cancel the concert had been extremely difficult, given the serious threat to the safety of her fans, venue staff and her team.
She said she did not want to put anyone at risk and understood how much time, travel and money fans invested in attending a show. The singer also apologised to everyone who had been preparing to attend the concert. The organisers later apologised to fans who had purchased tickets.
Meanwhile, local police said they had not instructed the venue management to cancel the concert and that the decision was likely made by the singer’s team.
Police said authorities received a phone call on Friday morning threatening to cause harm during the concert. Following the threatening call, the venue was searched before the event, inspected twice and provided with additional security personnel.
According to police, there was no danger at the concert venue and the threatening call was a hoax intended to create panic.
