Arrest Warrants Threatened for Interior Secretary Over Non-Compliance with Court Order

Karachi (Pakistan Khabar): The constitutional bench of the Sindh High Court has expressed strong displeasure over the failure to remove the petitioner’s name from the blacklist, directing its anger at the Federal Interior Secretary.

The court, issuing strict remarks, warned that if the petitioner’s name is not removed from the blacklist within one week, arrest warrants will be issued against the concerned officials. Justice Adnan-ul-Karim remarked that, for now, warrants are not being issued based on the assurance of Deputy Attorney General Khaliq Ahmed.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that Federal Interior Secretary Captain (Retired) Khurram Agha has neither complied with the court’s order nor responded to the court notice.

It is noteworthy that the court had already ordered the removal of overseas resident Muhammad Irfan’s name from the blacklist, which has yet to be implemented.
