Australia Drops Weatherald for Second Test Against Bangladesh

Australia (Sports Desk): Australia has dropped Jake Weatherald from the squad for the second Test against Bangladesh and included Matt Renshaw.

This is the only change to the Australian team after their heavy defeat in the first Test in Darwin, while the 13-member squad has otherwise been retained.

Jake Weatherald failed to make a significant impact in either innings of the first Test, scoring 23 and zero runs respectively. So far, he has scored only 224 runs in six Test matches at an average of 20.36.

In the first innings, he was caught while attempting a drive off Hasan Mahmud’s bowling, while in the second innings he was also bowled by Hasan Mahmud.

Meanwhile, Matt Renshaw is close to returning to Test cricket for the first time since 2023. He scored at an average of 49.90 in the Sheffield Shield tournament last season and also recorded three centuries.
