The Oval (Sports Desk) — Australia secured a place in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final after defeating West Indies by eight wickets.

In the semi-final played at The Oval, West Indies were restricted to just 125 runs while batting first. Australia chased down the target well before the end of the innings, securing a dominant victory.

Ash Gardner was named player of the match for her all-round performance, taking two wickets and scoring a quick 35 runs off just 20 balls. Beth Mooney also played a key role with an unbeaten 61 runs.

After previous setbacks in earlier tournaments, the Australian team focused on collective performance, which resulted in a strong comeback and qualification for the final.

All-rounder Ellyse Perry retired hurt due to a minor injury but team management confirmed she was rested as a precaution to ensure full fitness for the final.

Australia will now enter the final with strong confidence as they aim for the title.
