Sydney (Web Desk) — Australian scientists have developed cyborg cockroaches to deliver medicines to people trapped during natural disasters and emergencies.
According to a foreign news agency, these insects, equipped with special cameras and injection devices, have been named “ParaBorgs.” Electronic devices have been installed in their nervous systems, enabling them to be controlled remotely.
Researchers say these cyborg cockroaches are capable of passing through narrow and difficult-to-reach places to reach affected people. During experiments, they achieved an overall success rate of 72 percent in delivering medicine to the required location, while the success rate at shorter distances was recorded at up to 95 percent.
According to scientists, this technology could be used in the future to deliver essential medicines to people trapped in earthquakes, collapsed buildings, snakebite incidents and other emergency situations, helping to save valuable lives.
