London (Monitoring Desk): Britain has decided to launch a defensive mission in Saudi Arabia, under which Royal Air Force fighter jets will be deployed to the kingdom.
According to a Bloomberg report, British Typhoon fighter jets will help protect Saudi cities and critical facilities from Houthi attacks. Britain will also provide Saudi Arabia with an Atlas A400M transport aircraft and military advisers.
The report said Britain had announced additional military assistance for Saudi Arabia in September, including a Royal Air Force Voyager aerial refuelling aircraft. However, the deployment of fighter jets was not announced at that time.
Meanwhile, Yemeni authorities said the death toll from a Houthi militia attack on a training camp belonging to government security forces in Shabwah province had risen to 58.
