Islamabad (Commerce Desk): The Ministry of Finance is continuing political and international consultations regarding budget proposals for the upcoming fiscal year 2026–27, while key decisions await approval from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to sources, consultations with the Pakistan Peoples Party are ongoing alongside engagement with international financial institutions, whose final response is considered highly significant and is expected today.
The Ministry of Finance and its Tax Policy Wing are maintaining continuous online communication with the IMF to reach consensus on proposed reforms and fiscal measures.
Sources added that only those proposals approved by the IMF will be included in the final federal budget.
