Islamabad (Pakistan News) — The federal cabinet has approved drafts to amend the Defence Forces Act 2026 and the National Command Authority Act 2010.
At a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the draft Defence Forces Act 2026 was approved. It was prepared as part of the changes introduced under the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
The draft will define the position of the Chief of Defence Forces and administrative matters related to the Chief of Defence Forces Headquarters. Following cabinet approval, the bill will be presented for approval during the ongoing session of Parliament.
The meeting also approved amendments to the National Command Authority Act 2010, which were deemed necessary following the 27th Constitutional Amendment. The draft amendment will also be presented to Parliament for approval.
