Islamabad (Pakistan News): A key federal cabinet meeting chaired by Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and paid tribute to the military leadership for its role.
During the meeting, cabinet members applauded in recognition of the Field Marshal’s services, while participants were welcomed with applause and sweets were distributed. The cabinet also decided to observe Friday as a Day of Gratitude and urged the nation to offer special prayers for the success of the negotiations.
In his address, the Prime Minister said that the flames of war were engulfing the entire region, but through the ceasefire, Pakistan was honored, calling it a success for the whole nation.
He noted that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and his team worked tirelessly, while the Field Marshal remained in continuous contact with Iranian and American leadership, even staying awake through several nights.
The Prime Minister emphasized that there is complete coordination between political and military leadership, and that their joint efforts have played a significant role in promoting peace in the Muslim world.
He also thanked friendly countries for their support, stating that while the war has been temporarily halted, the ultimate goal is to achieve lasting peace.
The Prime Minister further announced that delegations from Iran and the United States have been invited to Islamabad for talks, expressing hope that the discussions will yield positive outcomes.
