Karachi (Commerce Desk): Chery Master Pakistan has announced the introduction of the fully electric vehicle ‘Chery Q’ during the Pakistan Auto Show 2026.
According to the company, the addition of the new vehicle will further expand its electric vehicle segment in Pakistan, keeping in view the growing popularity of new energy vehicles in the country. Chery Q has been developed for urban travel and daily commuting needs. The company will reveal the vehicle’s price at the Pakistan Auto Show on September 18, while bookings will also begin on the same day.
The company said that Chery Q is entering the Pakistani market at a time when the new energy vehicle sector is growing rapidly. During fiscal year 2025-26, the sector grew by 392 percent, and new energy vehicles have become approximately 15 percent of the overall vehicle market.
Chery Q is equipped with a 42.7 kWh battery, which, according to the NEDC standard, can travel up to 400 kilometers on a full charge. The vehicle’s energy efficiency is stated to be up to 9.4 kilometers per unit. It features 21 assistance functions under a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system, an automatic parking assistance system, a 15.6-inch 2.5K screen, mobile connectivity, and a system for supplying electricity from the vehicle to external devices.
According to the company, a conventional petrol vehicle driven 20,000 kilometers annually incurs fuel expenses of approximately Rs488,000, while the annual energy cost of a Chery Q charged with surplus solar electricity would be around Rs30,000.
The company further said that Pakistan imported approximately 17 gigawatts of solar energy capacity in 2024, resulting in increased use of rooftop solar systems in homes. Residential consumers can use surplus solar electricity to charge electric vehicles instead of sending it back to the grid.
