Peshawar (Pakistan News): Delays in the timely completion of development projects under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department have resulted in an increase of millions of rupees in project costs.
According to sources, delays in the projects have increased construction expenses, after which the Education Department has prepared a new strategy to ensure timely completion of development schemes and effective use of funds.
According to documents, the Education Department has established a six-member Development Funds Release Committee to monitor projects, oversee the release of funds, and evaluate performance. The committee will include the Additional Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, and other relevant officials.
The committee will review how much funding was allocated for each project, how much has been spent so far, and how much work has practically been completed. It will also provide progress reports of the projects to the Planning Officer.
According to the documents, the committee will be responsible for reviewing the required funds, outstanding payments, and expenditures against allocated amounts for ongoing projects and preparing reports.
The committee will also recommend the criteria on which funds should be released for under-construction projects so that development work can be completed on time and better use of public resources can be ensured.
