Islamabad (Commerce Desk) Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the government is taking all possible measures to provide relief to the public.
Speaking alongside Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik during a media briefing, the Finance Minister said that Pakistan’s process of economic stability is ongoing and record growth has been observed in the country’s exports.
He said that remittances are continuously increasing, while production in large-scale industries has also improved. According to him, exports have recorded a 14 percent year-on-year increase, and despite regional tensions, the petroleum supply chain has remained stable.
Muhammad Aurangzeb added that the government is ensuring timely external payments and diplomatic efforts for regional peace are also continuing. He informed that remittances of $3.54 billion were received in April, while $320 million investment was recorded in the Roshan Digital Account.
On this occasion, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said that despite global challenges, the availability of petroleum products in the country has been ensured. He thanked Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates for their support and said that billions of rupees in subsidies were provided on petroleum products during difficult times.
He further stated that the government is also continuously working to reduce the cost of electricity generation.
