Islamabad (Commerce Desk): While the government has announced a reduction in petrol prices, it has simultaneously increased the price of kerosene oil, another petroleum product.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of kerosene has been increased by Rs. 8.70 per litre, raising the new price to Rs. 280.70 per litre. Previously, kerosene was priced at Rs. 272 per litre.
It is worth noting that the government had announced a reduction of Rs. 4 per litre in petrol prices a day earlier, while keeping diesel prices unchanged.
According to the Petroleum Division, the revised petroleum prices will apply for the next week starting June 6. Petrol price has been reduced by Rs. 4 per litre to Rs. 377.78 per litre.
Diesel prices remain unchanged at Rs. 380.78 per litre.
Previously, the government had reduced petrol and diesel prices by Rs. 22 per litre each, bringing petrol down to Rs. 381.78 and diesel to Rs. 380.78 per litre.
Earlier, petrol was priced at Rs. 403.78 per litre and diesel at Rs. 402.78 per litre, while in mid-May, petroleum prices were also reduced by Rs. 5 per litre.
