Islamabad (Commerce Desk) — Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has directed that the technical concerns raised by shopkeepers and lawyers regarding the implementation of the Easy Tax Scheme be resolved immediately.
A review meeting on the Easy Tax Scheme was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Bilal Azhar Kayani, where he directed PRAAL and FBR officials to resolve the technical issues faced by shopkeepers and lawyers.
The Minister of State said shopkeepers who have filed their returns should be provided with FBR plates soon, adding that the Easy Tax Scheme is a unique facility for shopkeepers that is not available to any other business sector.
He said he hoped more shopkeepers would join the scheme, adding that following the launch of the scheme, shopkeepers have no reason left not to become filers.
According to Bilal Azhar Kayani, 9,806 shopkeepers have so far joined the scheme during the first month since its launch.
