Cairo (Sports Desk): Thousands of fans gave a warm welcome to Egypt's national football team upon its return home after delivering the best performance in the country's history at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Supporters gathered in large numbers at Al Alamein International Airport in the northern coastal city, waving national flags, singing anthems, and holding banners praising the players' efforts.
At the World Cup, Egypt achieved its first-ever victory in a World Cup match and also reached the Round of 16, which is being considered a major milestone in the history of Egyptian football.
Fans also carried pictures of team captain Mohamed Salah, featuring messages of appreciation and gratitude for his services and outstanding performance.
After returning home, the Egyptian team also held a victory parade on the streets of New Alamein in an open-top bus, where citizens warmly welcomed the players and expressed their love and support.
