New York (Monitoring Desk): Foreign ministers of eight Muslim countries, including Pakistan, have strongly condemned recent actions by Israeli settlers and extremist elements at Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that such measures violate the sanctity of the holy site and could further increase tensions in the region.
Foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Türkiye, and Indonesia agreed on a joint statement, declaring the provocative activities of Israeli settlers at Al-Aqsa Mosque and actions by Israeli extremist ministers and groups unacceptable.
The statement said that such actions pose serious threats to peace and stability in the region. The foreign ministers emphasized that the historical, legal, and religious status of Al-Aqsa Mosque must be respected under all circumstances, and no unilateral changes to its status would be accepted.
The joint statement also highlighted the importance of Jordan's Department of Endowments having special authority over the administrative and religious affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and called on the international community to take effective measures to protect this status.
The statement called on Israel to stop preventing Muslims from worshipping at Al-Aqsa Mosque, respect religious freedom, and avoid actions that could lead to further tensions and conflict in the region.
