Peshawar (Pakistan Khabar) — Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikhtiar Wali has said that the provincial government has provided all the elements required for the imposition of governor’s rule.
Speaking in a private television programme, Ikhtiar Wali said that when the time comes, the provincial assembly will be dissolved and the country will have to move toward midterm elections; otherwise, several options are available.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai said governor’s rule is imposed when the constitutional machinery stops functioning, whereas the constitutional machinery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is performing its functions.
Shaukat Yousafzai said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf wants negotiations with the government and that the government should take advantage of the four to five days available to it.
