New York (Web Desk): Meta is preparing to test a major change to Facebook’s design and user experience, under which video content will be given greater prominence instead of traditional text and image posts.
According to media reports, under the new design, users will see a full-screen video feed instead of the traditional News Feed when they open Facebook, making the platform’s experience similar to TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Meta is initially testing the new video-based design with a limited number of users in India. Trial users will also have the option to switch back to the old Facebook design if needed.
According to reports, the current News Feed will not be completely removed but will remain as a secondary tab in the app’s navigation.
Meta has not yet announced when the new design will be introduced worldwide. However, if the trial is successful, it could be gradually expanded to other countries.
