Fahad Mustafa Urges Punjab Government to Relax Cinema Timings

Karachi (Showbiz Desk) — Actor Fahad Mustafa has urged the Punjab government to relax cinema timings in order to provide better entertainment facilities to the public.

In an open letter addressed to the Minister for Information and Culture, he said that under the current austerity policy, shopping malls and cinemas operating inside them have been instructed to close at 8 PM, which is causing losses to the cinema industry.

He stated that most people are busy during the day and can only visit cinemas in the evening or at night. Due to these restrictions, box office performance and revenue of new films are being negatively affected.

Fahad Mustafa added that even a slight extension in cinema timings could increase ticket sales, create better employment opportunities, and support the entertainment industry.

He appreciated the Punjab government’s initiatives for the film industry, including the Lahore Film City project, calling it a positive step. However, he requested that cinema timings also be reconsidered so that filmmakers, cinema owners, and audiences can all benefit.

It is worth noting that Fahad Mustafa’s film was released across cinemas in Pakistan on Eid-ul-Adha and received significant audience attention.
