Lahore (Showbiz Desk): Renowned Pakistani singer Fakhir Shabir has recently come under public discussion following a statement that sparked widespread debate.
He praised the Punjab government’s steps against modern electronic tobacco devices, calling it a positive move. However, he also requested Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to consider a code of conduct regarding clothing in public spaces such as markets and streets.
In his message, Fakhir Shabir said that as a father of two daughters, he believes there should be some guidelines regarding clothing choices in public places.
He further demanded that restrictions be placed on wearing short clothing in public areas, stating that such measures could help preserve social and cultural values.
His wife and actress Sara Khan also shared his message on social media.
On the other hand, several social media users criticized his stance. Some argued that since he lives with his family in the United Kingdom, he should respect personal freedom instead of commenting on others’ clothing choices.
Some users termed the statement unnecessary moral policing, while others interpreted it as an attempt to gain attention.
