Karachi (Showbiz Desk) Formerly prominent Pakistani showbiz actress Faryal Gohar has spoken openly for the first time about the bitter incidents she experienced during her nine-year married life.
In an interview, the actress said that domestic violence against married women is a common issue in Pakistan, which can affect any woman regardless of education, independence, or social status.
Faryal Gohar claimed that many women endure violence within the confines of their homes and are forced to hide their injuries from others.
Referring to her personal experience, the actress said, “I also faced violence during my childhood, however, I do not want to reveal all the details regarding this.”
She claimed, “After marriage, I was repeatedly subjected to violence with a leather belt, and due to the severity of the violence, I also suffered a miscarriage.”
Faryal Gohar said, “I was only 23 years old when I got married, and this relationship was initially formed by my own choice. The family was also happy with the relationship, one reason being that my husband belonged to the Syed family.”
