Islamabad (Commerce Desk) — The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued an important clarification regarding the special tax scheme for small shopkeepers.
According to an FBR spokesperson, the special tax scheme is currently in its initial phase, while every possible facility is being provided to traders to resolve practical and technical difficulties faced during registration.
The spokesperson said the government and FBR are in continuous contact with the business community, market representatives and various trade organizations to make the implementation of the scheme easier and more transparent.
According to the statement, feedback and suggestions received from traders are also being reviewed, while necessary measures are being taken to resolve genuine difficulties faced during the registration process.
The FBR spokesperson said that if any trader faces a technical difficulty or any other issue while registering under the special tax scheme, they should contact the FBR directly, where they will be provided with the necessary guidance and assistance.
According to the spokesperson, the scheme provides small shopkeepers with an opportunity to become part of the tax system through a simplified procedure. Its purpose is to encourage voluntary tax compliance and facilitate small traders in their business and tax-related matters.
The FBR expressed hope that with the cooperation of the business community and trade organizations, the special tax scheme would achieve its intended objectives.
