Washington (Monitoring Desk): Former U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has rejected President Donald Trump’s claims regarding regime change in Iran.
According to international news agencies, Blinken stated that no one can predict how long Iran’s current government will remain in power. He acknowledged that even after the hypothetical assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, no rebellion or popular uprising has emerged against the government.
Earlier, President Trump had claimed that Iran’s navy and air force had been destroyed and its leadership eliminated, labeling the situation as a regime change.
Experts note that Blinken’s statement indicates that Iran’s current government remains stable and that, contrary to Trump’s claims, the situation is complex and uncertain.
