Islamabad (Commerce Desk): At the start of the new financial year, the government has revised the structure of levies on petroleum products.
According to Express News, the Climate Support Levy on petrol and diesel has been increased by Rs2.5 per litre, raising it from Rs2.5 to Rs5 per litre.
At the same time, the government has reduced the petroleum levy on both petrol and diesel by Rs2.5 per litre. Officials said the adjustment was made to balance the increase in the Climate Support Levy.
Despite these changes in levy structure, the government clarified that the overall prices of petrol and diesel remain unchanged, and consumers will not face any additional burden.
Authorities said the move is a technical adjustment in the tax structure aimed at maintaining fiscal balance and supporting policy stability.
