Gemini Monthly Users Surpass One Billion

Washington (Web Desk) — The number of monthly users of Google’s artificial intelligence-powered app Gemini has surpassed one billion.

Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai announced this major milestone in a post on the social media platform X, saying that Gemini has become Google’s fastest service to cross the one-billion-user mark.

According to Sundar Pichai, one billion people are using the Gemini app every month, while it is Google’s 14th service to reach one billion users.

Following this achievement, Gemini has become the world’s second most popular AI assistant after ChatGPT. ChatGPT crossed the milestone of one billion monthly users in June 2026, while Gemini achieved the target in approximately two and a half years.

Google introduced Gemini at the beginning of 2024. According to experts, Google’s Android operating system also played an important role in increasing Gemini’s popularity, as it is available as the default AI assistant on multiple smartphones.

Sundar Pichai has indicated that more major updates related to Gemini are in preparation and will be announced soon.

Despite Gemini’s rapidly growing popularity, Google faces intense competition in the field of artificial intelligence from OpenAI, Anthropic, and other companies.
