Germany (Web Desk): German private space company Isar Aerospace has made history by successfully sending its space rocket into orbit from European soil.
The company’s Spectrum rocket was launched toward space from the Andøya Space Center in Norway and successfully entered orbit.
The German company announced the achievement on the social media platform X, saying that the rocket had reached orbit. According to the company, history was made with the first successful orbital flight of a privately developed rocket from Europe.
Germany’s Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space Affairs also praised the achievement, saying that Germany has the capability for spaceflight.
According to the ministry, the development is important evidence of Germany’s innovation, technological expertise and growing capabilities in the space sector.
This was the second attempt to send the Spectrum rocket into space. Around 18 months ago, the company made its first attempt to launch the rocket, but that mission was unsuccessful.
Following this achievement, Germany’s private space industry has reached an important milestone in the European space sector. The development could pave the way for private rocket flights from European soil in the future.
