Gilgit (Pakistan News) In the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Elections 2026, women voters have gained critical importance, as in several constituencies even a small difference between male and female voters may directly influence the election results.

According to data, the total number of women voters in Gilgit-Baltistan is 454,480, and in at least five constituencies they could play a key role in deciding victory or defeat.

Diamer-1 is being described as the most unique constituency, where the number of male and female voters is almost equal. The constituency has 22,269 male voters and 22,257 female voters, with a difference of only 12 votes between them.

On the other hand, Gilgit-2 shows the largest gap between male and female voters, where male voters outnumber females by 3,829. The number of registered female voters in this constituency is 26,010.

According to election experts, Gilgit-2, Hunza, Ghizer-2, Gilgit-3, and Skardu-2 are key constituencies where women voters may have a decisive impact on the results. In Hunza, the number of women voters is 25,588, in Ghizer-2 it is 24,945, in Gilgit-3 it is 24,810, and in Skardu-2 it is 24,346.

Meanwhile, women’s political participation in the elections is also notable, with eight female candidates contesting from different constituencies, reflecting the growing representation of women in the electoral process.
