Gilgit (Pakistan News) According to the unofficial and non-final results of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections, Pakistan Peoples Party has emerged as the largest party overall, while independent candidates are also securing notable victories.
According to results received from 19 out of 24 constituencies so far, Pakistan Peoples Party has won 9 seats. Pakistan Muslim League (N) has secured 3 seats, while one seat has gone to Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen. In addition, independent candidates have won 6 seats.
According to constituency-wise results, PPP candidates have won in several important constituencies, including multiple areas of Gilgit, Skardu, Nagar, and Shigar. PML-N has also secured leads in some constituencies, while independent candidates have won several closely contested seats after strong competition.
In some constituencies, tight contests were observed where candidates led or trailed by narrow margins. Results in several constituencies are still incomplete, however early trends show PPP in the lead.
Overall, the results indicate that no single party has achieved a clear majority, increasing the likelihood of political bargaining for the formation of the next government.
