Islamabad (Pakistan News): Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar stated that global oil prices may increase in the coming days, and a collective plan for energy conservation is necessary.
In a joint press conference with Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, they explained that due to ongoing regional tensions, the Prime Minister has implemented cost-saving measures within his team and reduced allowances.
Ali Pervaiz Malik noted that these austerity measures prevented an increase in petrol and diesel prices this week, keeping prices stable to respect Eid festivities. He urged both the public and the government to actively contribute to energy savings.
Atta Tarar added that petroleum product prices are determined by global market rates. While increases of Rs 150 for petrol and Rs 250 for diesel were avoided this week, prices may rise further in the coming days. Therefore, coordinated planning for energy conservation is essential.
