California (Web Desk) — Google has introduced a new feature for Chrome web browser users that allows a tab transferred from one device to another to open at the same point where the user left it.
Previously, when a tab was transferred to and opened on another device, the webpage would generally appear from the beginning. However, with the new feature, Chrome will save the user’s scroll position on the first device, allowing the webpage to open on the second device from the same point where it was left.
The feature will be particularly useful for users who want to continue reading long articles on a computer after starting them on a smartphone.
Under the new feature, partially completed forms will also be saved in the browser, even if the user has not yet submitted them.
To use the feature on a computer, users will need to go to Chrome’s three-dot menu and select the Cast option, after which the tab can be transferred to another device through Save and Share.
On Android devices, the feature can also be accessed through the Share menu in the Chrome browser.
