Technology (Web Desk): Google may add a new intelligent assistant feature to its Translate app, improving the ability to convert spoken words into text and translate them into another language.
According to a report by technology website Android Authority, traces of the new feature have been found in the system code of the Google Translate app. It may be called “Smart Assist,” and its functionality is expected to resemble the Rumble feature available in Google's Gboard keyboard.
The report states that the system will not be limited to word-for-word translation. It may also help understand spoken sentences, transcribe them into text, and translate them.
Google developed the Rumble feature to improve speech recognition despite poor pronunciation, unclear audio, and other voice-related issues.
However, the feature is currently limited to Google Pixel 11 phones, so it remains unclear whether the new Google Translate feature will be available to all users or operate only on specific devices.
Google has not yet officially announced the feature's release or availability, and further details are still awaited.
