Growing Use of Artificial Intelligence in Online Shopping in Pakistan Revealed in Visa Report

California (Web Desk): A new annual report by global digital payments company Visa has revealed that a large number of users in Pakistan are using artificial intelligence tools for online shopping.

According to the report, 82 percent of Pakistani consumers are using AI tools for various tasks during online shopping, including price comparison, product reviews, and gift selection.

The data shows that 93 percent of users believe that artificial intelligence has made the online shopping process faster and easier. However, concerns regarding trust during the final stage of purchase still remain.

The study found that only 42 percent of consumers are willing to complete payments or checkout processes using artificial intelligence-based systems.

The report further stated that 82 percent of Pakistani users have made purchases through social media platforms, while incidents of financial fraud have increased, with 55 percent of users reportedly falling victim to some form of fraud in the past year.

It also added that 87 percent of respondents believe AI will play an important role in preventing fraud in the future, while 65 percent said the technology is already helping in identifying suspicious activities more easily.

Concerns were also raised regarding children’s online safety, with a large number of respondents stating that children face difficulties in identifying digital fraud.

A senior Visa official said that artificial intelligence and social commerce are transforming consumer shopping behavior, but trust, security, and user control are essential for the growth of digital commerce.
