Kabul (Monitoring Desk) Political debate has once again intensified in Afghanistan, where Hizb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has declared the Taliban government unacceptable and called for political change and transparent elections.
According to Afghan media outlet Amu TV, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar said that the current system does not represent the aspirations of the Afghan people, making immediate reforms necessary.
He criticized the Taliban government, stating that the country lacks fundamental political structures such as a constitution and a consultative council, which are considered essential for any state system.
Meanwhile, the Hizb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Afghanistan party has stated that political leadership based abroad will not return until a system based on public mandate is established, otherwise the Taliban will be held responsible for the ongoing crisis.
Experts believe that due to the strict and authoritarian style of governance by the Taliban, public demands for a change in the system are increasing in Afghanistan.
