Rawalpindi (Sports Desk): England captain Harry Brook has achieved a unique milestone in cricket history, becoming the second batter in the world to accomplish this feat.
In the third match of the tri-nation series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, Harry Brook scored the fastest double century in One Day International (ODI) cricket. He also became the first English batter to score a double century in ODIs.
With this remarkable innings, Harry Brook became the second player to score a triple century in Test cricket, a double century in ODIs and a century in T20 Internationals. Before him, explosive West Indies batter Chris Gayle, famously known as the “Universe Boss,” had achieved this distinction.
Interestingly, Harry Brook also scored his Test triple century at Rawalpindi Stadium.
However, Brook’s record-breaking double century could not save England from defeat, as Sri Lanka successfully chased down the second-highest target in the history of ODI cricket.
