Lahore (Pakistan Khabar) The weather is expected to remain hot and dry in most parts of the country today, while the severe heatwave will continue in southern regions. According to the Meteorological Department, hot and dry conditions are likely to prevail across most areas of the country, while a further rise in temperature has been forecast in the southern regions.
The spell of rainfall in the upper areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has temporarily subsided; however, chances of rain have been predicted again in the coming days. In most districts of Balochistan, the weather remains hot and dry, while severe heat will continue in the southern districts. The temperature in Sibi has reached 45°C and in Turbat it has climbed to 46°C.
In Karachi, hot weather and clear skies are expected over the next 24 hours, with the maximum temperature likely to remain between 35°C and 37°C.
According to the Meteorological Department, during the past 24 hours, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 46°C in Turbat and Nawabshah. Other cities recorded temperatures as follows: Sakrand 45°C, Dadu, Lasbela and Mohenjo Daro 44°C, Hyderabad and Sukkur 42°C, Multan and Sahiwal 38°C, Karachi 35°C, Lahore 34°C, Islamabad and Peshawar 33°C, Quetta and Muzaffarabad 30°C, while Gilgit recorded 23°C.
