High Court Rejects Transfer Plea in TikToker Murder Case, Issues Written Verdict

Islamabad (Showbiz Desk) The Islamabad High Court has rejected the request to transfer the trial of TikToker Sana Yousaf murder case to another court and has issued a written judgment.

In the detailed decision, Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar ruled that allegations of bias and misconduct against the trial court judge could not be proven, therefore the request was dismissed.

The court stated in its judgment that repeatedly filing adjournment applications is equivalent to obstructing the process of justice, and therefore the trial will continue in the court of Additional Sessions Judge West.

The verdict further stated that providing a state-appointed lawyer to the accused is his constitutional right so that the trial can be completed without interruption, but the use of inappropriate language against the trial court is regrettable.

The court also observed that using harsh words against a judge undermines the dignity of the judiciary.

It is worth noting that the accused, Umar Hayat, had requested the transfer of the case to another court, which has now been rejected by the High Court.
