Karachi (Showbiz Desk) — Pakistani fashion designer and actor Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, popularly known as HSY, has revealed that he lost the vision in both eyes for nearly a year following an accident.
Speaking on a podcast, HSY said that during Ramadan, he had gone with a friend to buy iftar items. On the way back, his friend was driving the car when the call to prayer was made. When he opened the food bag, steam coming from it caused everything inside the car to become blurry.
According to HSY, by the time his friend cleaned the car windows, the vehicle had gone off the road and met with an accident, causing him to hit the windshield. As a result, he lost the vision in both eyes.
He said the sudden loss of vision put him under severe mental stress and changed the way he viewed and experienced life. His reliance on his other senses increased to the extent that he could even hear his mother crying from several rooms away.
The fashion designer said that after his vision remained affected for around a year, he underwent treatment and multiple surgeries, following which his eyesight eventually returned.
