Peshawar (Pakistan News) — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has offered talks to the federal government, saying they have never backed away from dialogue.
Speaking to senior journalists, Sohail Afridi said seven days remain until the September 27 call, adding that if the government wants to hold talks, it should do so. “If dialogue has to take place later as well, then why not hold it now?” he asked.
The chief minister said they were ready for negotiations yesterday and are ready today as well, adding that they have never backed away from talks. He claimed that the central rulers do not allow an agreement to be reached between them and the establishment.
Sohail Afridi said they have been approaching every institution for the past nine months but have not been heard, which is why they were compelled to give the September 27 call. He said seven days are still left for the march and the government should hold talks during this period.
He further said nothing can be done with the establishment’s narrative, adding that the country is being run according to the policy of one person, whose representative is Mohsin Naqvi.
