Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and the Federal Investigation Agency jointly took action against an organization providing illegal internet services and detained one person.
The PTA Lahore Zonal Office, in collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency’s Corporate Crime Circle, conducted an operation in the Ferozepur Road, Kahna Nau area, where an organization was illegally providing internet services without a license.
According to the PTA, during the raid, two Cisco switches, five GPON OLTs, 19 patch cables, three cash memo books and one laptop were confiscated, while one person was arrested.
According to officials, a case has been registered against the organization providing illegal internet services, and further investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency is underway.
The PTA said that the purpose of action against illegal internet services is also to prevent tax evasion and misreporting of revenue, as well as to protect the national exchequer.
The PTA has appealed to citizens to use the services only of telecommunications companies that are duly licensed by the authority.
