Indian Actress Upset Over Abrar Ahmed’s Selection, Boycott Rumors Begin Circulating

Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Reports have surfaced claiming that Indian actress Ananya Panday has reacted strongly to the inclusion of Pakistani cricketer Abrar Ahmed in the cricket league The Hundred.

According to information circulating on social media, Ananya Panday allegedly expressed anger over Abrar Ahmed’s selection and announced a boycott of the team Sunrisers Leeds. It is also being claimed that she broke her Reliance Jio SIM card in protest. However, no official statement or confirmation has yet been issued by the actress regarding these claims.

It is worth noting that Pakistani leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed was recently picked by Sunrisers Leeds, a team owned by Indian-origin owner Kavya Maran, for participation in The Hundred league in England. The development has sparked a heated debate across social media platforms in India, where many users and cricket fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the decision.

According to media reports, The Hundred league is scheduled to be played from July 21 to August 16. For participation in the tournament, Abrar Ahmed will require permission from the Pakistan Cricket Board. However, due to the national team’s commitments, the chances of him receiving clearance are said to be low.

It is also recalled that Abrar Ahmed last played a Test match in January 2025 against the West Indies cricket team.
