Dubai: The International Cricket Council has announced a record prize pool for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, a move expected to further boost the growth of women’s cricket globally.
According to the ICC, a total prize fund of $8,764,615 has been allocated for the tournament, marking a 10 percent increase compared to the 2024 edition. For the first time, 12 teams will participate in the event.
As per the announcement, the winning team will receive $2.34 million, while the runners-up will be awarded $1.17 million.
Similarly, teams losing in the semi-finals will receive $675,000 each, while every group-stage win will earn a prize of $31,154.
The initiative is being seen as a reflection of the growing popularity and significance of women’s cricket on the global stage.
